Biography:
- What is your athletic background and coaching experience?
- I am born and raised in Arizona, I attended Greenway High School in here in Phoenix where my sports career started as I was a 3-sport athlete in football, wrestling, and track. After high school I attend GCC and Arizona State University where I graduated with honors and received my degree in Elementary Education. After college I was a middle school teacher for 10 years between 2 different schools, with my last 5 years as a teacher here at CPA teaching math and lit/comp. The last two years I have been working as the athletic director here at CPA. I have coached baseball, softball, boys/girls basketball, beach volleyball, volleyball, and football over the course of my 13 years in education. Most notably I have been a Head Varsity Volleyball coach with a career record of 236-118 and that includes 4 region championships, 2 state runners up, and 5 region coach of the year awards (along with 3 conference coach of the year awards). Currently at CPA I coach the volleyball team, the beach team, and help with any other programs that need assistance!
- What is your coaching philosophy/style?
- I would say my style is a lot of tough love. On the court I have a certain demand from my athletes that is expected to be maintained throughout the season both on and off court! I expect them to be the role model of a team on the campus with their academics, athletic performances, and school spirit.
- What is your history with CPA specifically? (Family, alumni, etc.)
- I was brought to CPA by a former teacher in Coach Baughman (the daughter of Mrs. Goodwin) as she was leaving, and she handed the reigns of her amazing volleyball team to myself and gave me her class load as she headed off to bigger adventures outside of CPA.
