Varsity Girls Basketball
Biography:
Athletic Background:
I started playing basketball when I was four years old. At 6'8", I played center my entire career. In my senior year of high school, my varsity basketball team won the Michigan Class D state championship. After high school, I played basketball at Trinity Christian College in Palos Heights, Illinois. After college, I wanted to find a way to stay connected to the sport and took up coaching at my high school as a Girls Varsity Assistant Basketball Coach. I spent five years coaching there before I transitioned to coaching as an assistant for a Boys Varsity Basketball program. After moving to Arizona, I spent three seasons with the Mountain View Toros as their Girls Junior Varsity Coach. I joined Chandler Prep in the Fall of 2021 and look forward to starting my third season with the Titans as their Girls Varsity Head Basketball Coach.
Coaching Style:
As a coach, I strive to build a culture of team fellowship, community and player and team accountability both on and off the court. My personal goal for each season is to help players develop as student athletes and responsible community members. I believe that competitive athletics is an integral part of the educational process. In my opinion, extra-curricular activities such as team sports is one of the viable entities we have as coaches that encompasses all of the qualities that we want to teach. Through basketball, our student athletes experience intellectual, physical, social, and emotional growth. Through basketball our students/athletes develop character which inspires confidence.
CPA History:
I joined Chandler Prep in the Fall of 2021. Although, I am newer to the Titan family (and Arizona), I feel a close connection to the Chandler Prep community. Chandler Prep is very similar to the high school I attended and started my coaching career at in Michigan which was one of the draws to joining the Titan family.
