Varsity Assistant Coach

Biography:
Athletic Background:
I was born and raised in Arizona. My love for sports began young, with a wide variety of sports. In middle school, I focused on basketball and volleyball, playing volleyball for the East Valley Junior Volleyball Club. I graduated from Valley Christian High School in 2000 where I represented the Trojans on the Girls' Varsity Basketball Team as well as Cross Country, Track and Field, and Softball. During high school, I also played for the Arizona Elite basketball club. After graduating, I spent 5 years learning to coach at Valley Christian High School from Coach Scott Timmer, who is known as "one of the winningest girls basketball coaches in Arizona history" while pursuing my Bachelor of Arts in Education, Physical Education at Arizona State University under the direction of Dr. Pangrazi, where I was named Outstanding Senior Girl. During that time, I also coached the middle school and freshman volleyball teams at Grace Community Christian School (now Grace Christian School) and Valley Christian High School. For extra income and personal growth in college, I umpired adult recreational softball and officiated youth basketball, volleyball, and flag football.

Coaching Philosophy/Style:
I have taught athletic skills to young athletes of all ages and have almost a decade of experience coaching at the middle school and high school levels in both school and club settings. I am passionate about working with young athletes, teaching sports fundamentals and habits that lead to excellence and resilience in all of life, and sharing my passion for sports. As a coach, I lean toward fast-paced, competitive, high-energy practices. I ask and inspire my players to exhibit hard work, passion on the court, and dedication to skill improvement outside of practice. A quote from Coach John Wooden represents me as a coach well. Wooden said, "What you are as a person is far more important than what you are as a basketball player.”

CPA History:
I have three scholar-athletes in various grade levels at Archway and Chandler Prep and taught Kindergarten and First Grade Physical Education at Archway Chandler and Archway Cicero during the 2017-2018 school year.

3 Fun Facts:
1. I enjoy the outdoors - hiking & camping especially
2. I love riding my mini pit bike in the forest
3. I love Coca-Cola classic.

Varsity Head Coach

Biography:

Athletic Background:

I started playing basketball when I was four years old. At 6'8", I played center my entire career. In my senior year of high school, my varsity basketball team won the Michigan Class D state championship. After high school, I played basketball at Trinity Christian College in Palos Heights, Illinois. After college, I wanted to find a way to stay connected to the sport and took up coaching at my high school as a Girls Varsity Assistant Basketball Coach. I spent five years coaching there before I transitioned to coaching as an assistant for a Boys Varsity Basketball program. After moving to Arizona, I spent three seasons with the Mountain View Toros as their Girls Junior Varsity Coach. I joined Chandler Prep in the Fall of 2021 and look forward to starting my third season with the Titans as their Girls Varsity Head Basketball Coach.

Coaching Style:

As a coach, I strive to build a culture of team fellowship, community and player and team accountability both on and off the court. My personal goal for each season is to help players develop as student athletes and responsible community members. I believe that competitive athletics is an integral part of the educational process. In my opinion, extra-curricular activities such as team sports is one of the viable entities we have as coaches that encompasses all of the qualities that we want to teach. Through basketball, our student athletes experience intellectual, physical, social, and emotional growth. Through basketball our students/athletes develop character which inspires confidence.

CPA History:

I joined Chandler Prep in the Fall of 2021. Although, I am newer to the Titan family (and Arizona), I feel a close connection to the Chandler Prep community. Chandler Prep is very similar to the high school I attended and started my coaching career at in Michigan which was one of the draws to joining the Titan family.

Fun Facts:

1. I am a #GirlDad with three daughters--Birdie (3), Tilly (2), Millie (Newborn).

2. I went to high school with former NBA star Chris Kaman.

3. Although I stand at a towering 6'8", I am terrified of heights.

4. I am often mistaken as Toby Damon (Chris Sullivan) from the show 'This is Us'. Fun Fact: My mom once confused a picture of Chris Sullivan as me.
